What Makes Electric Scooters Different?
For most first time buyers, the question of “what makes this different?” or “why should I go electric?” often comes up. It is true that there are motorized scooters which may or may not go faster than electric scooters, but there are pros and cons to each.
First, I’d like to say that motorized scooters are cool and that I respect them, but if you have the option of using a gasoline-based scooter or an electric scooter, I would see no reason why you would select a scooter that runs on gas rather than electric current.
The scooter image to your right is what a typical motorized scooter running on gasoline would look like.
Not very appealing, is it?
There are quite a few reasons you might want to go electric rather than with gas, and many of them have substantial importance.
1. Noise – The facts are that motorized scooters running on gasoline are much, much louder than those using electric currents. Actually, I would say that 99% of electric scooters are perfectly quiet aside from a slight, low hum the vehicle makes when reaching higher speeds.
Noise is a very important thing to think about because you don’t want to be disturbing anyone! Even if your neighbors are fine with it, eventually they will grow tired of the growling and I have no doubt in my mind that you will too. Noise is not something you should want on a motorized scooter.
2. Cost – This might be the determining factor for you or your family. After all, cost is a big one that you should really think about before investing your time and money into this. Electric scooters run on your electric current which we all know isn’t free, but it is drastically cheaper than paying for gasoline.
Look at it this way, you could charge up your electric scooters hundreds of times and still not have had to pay half of what you would to fill up a gas tank once, imagine how much money you’ll be saving!
Usually electric scooter manufacturers are pretty good at keeping prices low, but you might sometimes find a motorized gasoline scooter to still be cheaper than the electric variant. Have no worries though, you’ll still be saving much more money in the long-term if you choose to go electric.
3. Style – Of course how good anything looks is subjective to the person who’s looking, but from my experience nearly everyone I’ve encountered prefers the style of electric scooters over regular, boring gasoline scooters.
Sure, to you it might not be a big deal but if we’re talking about electric scooters for kids, it’s a mightly big deal.
The bottom line is this: if you care about the environment and you like scooters, you will choose electric scooters over the other options, there’s no way around it. It’s not like you’re doing a chore however, you’re really getting the best of both worlds (getting the better scooter + helping the environment).
If you have the opportunity to bring an electric scooter into your life, I would strongly recommend you make the decision to take advantage of the opportunity because I believe it won’t be a decision you regret!
Why I believe Everyone Will Be Using Electric Scooters
This is something I’ve been an advocate of for some years now, and I still stand by it one hundred percent. If you take a look at the statistics, you’ll notice that many people around the world are starting to “cut the cord” on their cars.
This is mostly due to the fact that gas prices aren’t getting any lower and that traffic is growing more and more atrocious by the day, and nobody wants to go through that.
Many people in countries all over the world are using mopeds and electric scooters aren’t that far off from replacing them. If we could just get a better range on these things, this industry will be flying sooner than ever! Imagine a world where people are zooming around the streets only on electric scooters, imagine how much money will be saved and how much our atmosphere will be protected.
Now imagine how far we are from achieving that and motivate yourself to make that world a reality!
