We actually bought the E300 for our 12 year old son, however, after I rode it a few times, I decided to buy an electric scooter for myself.

So, I started to check out some electric scooters online, mostly on Amazon.com. I began learning about the different features, and reading owner’s reviews.

I weigh 200 lbs, so it was important to find a scooter that could handle that kind of weight. In order to handle riders over 200 lbs, an electric scooter usually has to have at least 500 watts of power.

I also  wanted an electric scooter with a seat, for longer trips and errands. I found that Currie Electric scooters had several models that suited my needs. I particularly liked the E zip E750 electric scooter, and the Ezip 500 electric scooter.

The E750 has a powerful 750 watt motor, and could reach a top speed of 15 mph. It had a fully removable and adjustable seat, as well.

However, what really impressed me was how far it could travel on a single charge. It could go up to 12 miles! It was easily “heavy duty” enough for me, as it could handle riders up to 260 lbs.

This Christmas we decided to buy electric scooters for all 3 of our kids. We bought the Razor E100 electric scooter for our 8 year old daughter, a Razor E300 for our 10 year old daughter, and a Ezip 900 electric scooter for our 14 year old son.

We got “hooked” on electric scooters when the pastor of our church got one for his 10 year old daughter, Angela. We were invited over to watch her ride, and our kids actually got the chance to “test drive” the scooter!

Needless to say, they LOVED it!

We decided on buying the Razor E100 for our youngest because we felt like it was a good “transitional” scooter for relatively young children.

It is exciting for them to ride, with it’s twist grip throttle and a top speed of 10 mph! Yet it is also a safe speed as well. It requires reaching a speed of approximately 3 mph, before activating the chain driven motor.

In that sense, it resembles a conventional “push” scooter.

The Razor E300 electric scooter is perfect for our adventurous 10 year old! When we decided to buy electric scooters for our kids, we were careful to make sure we selected the right scooter for each of them.

The E300 really is quite fast, reaching a top speed of 15 mph! That type of speed will keep our 10 year old interested for quite some time.

It also has an extra wide, non slip deck, and wide 10 inch pneumatic tires. Both help it to provide a surprisingly smooth ride.

My 14 year old son needed an electric scooter that could handle his 185 lbs heft. We really liked the Ezip 900 electric scooter, which is made by Currie Technologies.

It can handle riders up to 240 lbs, so it will be suitable for our son for the forseeable future. We really liked the fact that it features a removable seat.

That feature will come in handy for longer rides. It can reach a top speed of 15 mph., and has a range of up to 12 miles.

The Ezip 900 is suitable for adults, as well. It is great for running short errands, where you don’t want to use your car.

In terms of batteries, the E900 has a twin 12 volt battery pack, that holds a charge for about 40 minutes of continuous riding.

It takes aproximately 6-8 hours to re-charge the batteries. The ride is quite smooth , due to it’s 70 lbs heft, and an excellent suspension.
