I finally “bit the bullet” and bought my youngest daughter the Razor Pocket Mod, which is the pink electric scooter she has been bugging me about for the past 3 months!
For some reason, all the little girls in our neighborhood have suddenly gotten pink electric scooter “fever”!
They seem to be everywhere! It started about 6 months ago, and now I swear their must be at least 7 of them that I see “zipping” along regularly!
In fact, they have gotten together and formed a “scooter” club. They meet every Saturday morning, and “scoot” to a nearby destination.
Fortunately, we live in the country, so traffic isn’t a problem. Luckily, the electric scooters have chain driven motors and are MUCH more quiet than gas powered scooters.
Every once in awhile, parents who own trucks will take the girls and their scooters to fun destinations to do their riding

Razor E100 Electric Scooter
Basically, the girls ride 3 different models of pink electric scooters.
All of them are razor Electric scooters. The are the Razor E100 electric scooter, the Razor Pocket Mod, and the Razor E300S seated electric scooter.
The Razor E100 is probably the scooter that is best suited for the younger girls. It is easier to control, and very similar to traditional “push” scooters.
However, it still “scoots” along at up to 10 mph, which is plenty fast to have fun!
The Razor E300S is part of Razor’s new line of “Sweet Pea” scooters. The line features both traditional scooters and electric scooters.
The girls love the accompanying “Sweet Pea” helmets that they can choose to purchase along with the matching pink electric scooter.
This model features a removable, and adjustable seat, which is great for longer rides. Most of these electric scooters for kids can go between 30-45 minutes on a single charge of their batteries.

My 9 year old daughter had been bugging me to death to get her the Razor E175 Electric Scooter.
Her best friend in the neighborhood has one, and everytime she “zips” by, I have to hear about it!
So finally, enough was enough, and my wife and I decided we would do some shopping for kids electric scooters.
The only place we knew of to get some information, was online.
So we “Googled” in “electric scooters” to see what we could find out.
We found out pretty quick that their all kinds of electric scooters, and many of them were not what we were looking for. We discovered “mobility” scooters, “street legal” scooters, even scooters that were used to haul coolers!
Finally, we “Googled” in “kids electric scooters”, and actually found what we were looking for.
When discussing manufacturers of electric scooters for kids, the name that came up the most often was Razor USA. They have been making scooters of all types for about 10 years.
In fact, they make kids electric vehicles of all types, including “off road” electric vehicles such as dune buggies.
We finally came across the Razor E175 electric scooter online at Amazon.com. We started reading a few reviews, and going over some of the features of the Razor E175.
While manufacturers make suggestions regarding the age range of riders for a particular scooter model, we found that weight capacity is probably the best criterion to help determine which electric scooter is best for a kid.
The E175, for example, has a rider weight capacity of up to 120lbs. Our daughter weighs about 70 lbs, so that was fine. In fact, she will be able to ride it for quite some time.
Top speed is also important. You want a top speed that is exciting, but doesn’t scare the child. The Razor E175 electric scooter has a top speed of 10 mph. Again, that top speed was just fine.
We also found out that it has a twist grip accelerator, and bicycle style hand brakes. It runs continuously for up to 40 minutes on a charge of it’s twin 12 volt batteries.
Plenty of time to have fun!
Finally, charging is perfectly suited as an overnight task. It takes about 12 hours to re-charge.
All in all, the Razor E175 electric scooter is a fantastic way for kids to have good old fashioned, safe fun!

With responsive twist grip acceleration, and an impressive rear suspension, the Razor Pocket Mod is a blast to ride for “children” of all ages!

Ezip 900- A Classic Seated Electric Scooter
The Ezip 900 is more of a “serious” electric scooter as it features a 500 watt, direct chain driven motor.
It can go up to 15 mph, and has a range of 12 miles. Excellent for longer trips! The braking is crisp due to rear disk brakes.
It’s ride is smooth as silk due to an excellent suspension and 12 inch, street slick tires.

Our niece got a pink electric scooter for her 12th birthday. The model is a Razor E300S electric scooter, and they call it a “Sweet Pea”.
She has ridden it for about 3 months now,(almost EVERY day!), and my wife and I have noticed a very definite change in her attitude and personality.
In fact, the changes have been so dramatic, that we decided to post “3 Reasons Girls Need Pink Electric Scooters.
Reason #1 – A Pink Electric Scooter Will Get Positive Attention!
The very first time Emily(our niece), rode the scooter around the neighborhood, it definitely was noticed by our neighbors.
Luckily, the scooter is ultra quiet, so the attention was real positive! Many of the kids in the neighborhood came up to her asking for rides.
This was definitely a positive situation, as she was essentially a shy child. In no time, she had accumulated several new friends. She really had cultivated her social skills!
Reason# 2 – A Pink Electric Scooter Can Help Children Become Independent
Emily’s frequent scooter trips really allowed her to “stretch her wings”. In the past, she had always been a “home body”, and never had shown much of an interest in leaving the house. The Razor E300S electric scooter holds a charge for about 45 minutes, which is enough time for her to go “exploring”, but not so long that it keeps her from other important tasks.
Generally, we would charge the scooter overnight, and she would be ready to go for the next day. The scooter has a top speed of 15mph, which is plenty fast enough to keep her interested, yet not so fast that it is dangerous.
Reason# 3- Riding Pink Electric Scooters Is “Old Fashioned” Fun!
Years ago, it seems like kids played outside more than they do today. First, television came along, and rightfully became known as the “boob tube”.
Now, computer games and video games have kids staying inside glued to their monitors. Riding electric scooters is so much fun that kids WANT to be outside.
No doubt about it, Emily’s pink electric scooter has changed her life. And of course, she wears a matching pink helmet!

The Razor iMod scooter is a razor scooter that departs in appearance from the traditional “push” scooter look.
In fact, the Razor iMod has a rather stylish, European scooter look, much like the Vespa electric scooter. When shopping for electric scooters, we discovered that many people prefer that look.
Perhaps it makes them feel a little older and more sophisticated.
Upon test driivng the Razor iMod scooter, we found it to be an excellent “transitional” mode of transportation for older children and young adults. The scooter has a weight capacity for riders of up to 170 lbs, however in the following video, it is actually being ridden by a man and a toddler!
Check out this very brief video of the Razor iMod in action!
Razor has incorporated several fun and useful features in to the iMod electric scooter. As with their other scooters that are intended for older children and adults, it has a top speed of 15 m.p.h.This is also the top speed for the Razor E300S electric scooter, and the Razor E300 electric scooter. It is a speed that is safe for the rider, but still fast enough to be fun!
The scooter features two, 12 volt batteries, that can hold a charge for approximately 30 minutes. It takes 10-12 hours to charge the battery.
The Razor iMod scooter has an extremely smooth ride, due to a beefed up rear suspension and 16 inch pneumatic tires.
It is powered by a 250 watt, chain driven, electric motor. Kids of all ages love the responsiveness of the twist grip throttle! We found it to be remarkably quiet, especially compared to most gas powered scooters.
A very practical feature is the storage compartment underneath the lift off seat.
The feature that separates the Razor iMod from other electric scooters, is that it comes equipped with two full range speakers and a docking station that is compatible with all current versions of the Apple iPod as well as an FM radio.

Kids Electric Scooters Are A Blast!
Kids electric scooters are increasing in popularity, as are all electric powered vehicles.
Many of us grew up riding traditional “push” scooters, and have fond memories of them.
Today’s electric scooters for kids are safe, fun, and satisfy a child’s need for independence. Many parents are unaware of what they should know if they are considering buying an electric scooter for one of their children.I have put together 6 tips that will ensure your success in buying kids electric scooters.
#1 Check Weight Capacity Rather Than Suggested Ages
Typically, maufacturers will makes suggestions about an age range for riders of the electric scooter. While this can be helpful, it is not always accurate. My daughter, for example, has a Razor E200S seated electric scooter. Razor suggests that riders of this scooter should be at least 12 years of age. Yet, my daughter just turned 10, and handles the scooter just fine. It is light enough for her to handle, yet sturdy enough to be stable.
Suggested weight capaciites, on the other hand, are important to heed. A rider that is too heavy for the scooter to handle, can damage the scooter in a hurry!
#2 Pay Attention To The Electric Scooter’s Top Speed
Most kids electric scooters have a top speed of between 10-15 mph. While these speeds are safe for children, many kids feel more comfortable at 10 mph than they do at 15 mph.
We considered getting the Razor E100 electric scooter for our daughter. However, it has a top speed of 10 mph, and she felt like she would get bored at that speed. For other children, 10 mph is PLENTY fast!
#3 Consider A Seated Electric Scooter
Riding an electric scooter with a seat comes in VERY handy on longer rides. The Razor E300S electric scooter, for example, has a very comfortable seat. Also, the seat can be adjusted according to the height of the rider, and is detachable.
Basically, you get the best of both worlds!
#4 Buy An Appropriate Helmet
Many helmets intended for use with kids electric scooters have an open face. This is cause for concern when going 15 mph, as debris can fly in your face. “Junior” motorcycle helmets are a good alternative, becuse they have a shield for the face.
#5 Be Aware Of Your Local Laws And Ordinances
Some areas impose restrictions on the use of certain kinds of powered vehicles, such as electric scooters, on certain types of roads and protected areas. Make sure you are aware if any restrictions exist in your area.
#6 Buy Your Electric Scooter From A Reputable Dealer
Check with your local BBB, and make sure your are buying your kids electric scooter from an authorized dealer. Legitimate dealers will stand behind warranties, and offer numerous avenues for electric scooter parts and service.

This Christmas, the Razor E125 made the perfect gift for our 9 year old niece!
She is somewhat difficult to buy gifts for, as she is a shy child with seemingly few friends or interests.
We have a few children in the neighborhood that ride the Razor E125 Electric Scooter, and they always looked like they were having lots of fun!
One day, over breakfast, my wife and I discussed giving Amy,(our niece), an electric scooter for Christmas.
Our biggest concern was that she would never ride it, and it would just end up collecting dust. On the other hand, it might help her meet new friends and get her out of the house.
We discussed the pros and cons of buying her the electric scooter, and finally we agreed that the pros clearly outweighed the cons.
None of the sporting goods stores in our area carried the Razor E125. However, we did find one that carried both the Razor E300 electric scooter, and the Razor E300S electric scooter.
Both models were extremely impressive, however they are really intended for older kids and teenagers. They have a top speed of 15 m.p.h. while the E125 can reach 10 m.p.h.
So we went online and found a variety of razor scooters on Amazon.com. Ultimately, the Razor E125 electric scooter was the model that fit our niece the best.
They come in 2 colors, black and red, and we opted for red.
We had timed the delivery perfectly, as the scooter arrived 2 days before Christmas. We decided to give it to her right away, as we saw no reason to wait.
We presented it to her as she arrived home from a friend’s house. The Razor E125 was actually sitting in our living room, with a big red bow tied around it!
When she first noticed it, a puzzled look came across her face, and she asked, “Is that scooter for me?”
We said,” you bet, and that’s an ELECTRIC scooter!”
She then squealed with delight, and asked if she could ride it immediately. Naturally, we said “yes”, and she placed the helmet we had gotten with the bike on her head.
The Razor E125 requires a little “push off” to get the engine started, and she left our driveway to take a “spin.”
We were impressed with how quiet it is, and easy to handle. Apparently it can handle riders up to 120 lbs, so Amy would be able to ride it for a few more years.
She returned about 15 minutes later, and asked us how much longer she could ride. We knew that the Razor E125 electric scooter can hold a charge for about 40 minutes, so
we told her to be back in about 25 minutes.
No doubt about it, she was having a BALL!!

My wife and I had always thought of the Razor Pocket Mod Scooter as a bit of a “toy”. we always thought that our neighbor’s 11 year old girl looked “cute” while she was whizzing around the neighborhood. We never dreamed that the Razor Pocket Mod it would be a solution to a very pressing problem.
My16 year old son was offered his first job as a cashier in a hardware store about 3 miles from our house.
My wife and I both work, and we would have been unable to drive him to work. Unfortunately, non of his fellow employees lived nearby, so he would get no help from them.
To make matters worse, he was unable to ride his bike because he was recovering from knee surgery. He had torn ligaments playing football.
Clearly, we had a problem.
One day, my husband and I were walking our dog, and our neighbor’s daughter rode by us on her Razor Pocket Mod scooter. I have included a video so you could watch the Razor Pocket Mod in “Action”!
As she sped by, my wife and I looked at each other. We spoke simultaneously, and said, “THAT would be perfect for Richie(our son)!
We discovered that the Razor Pocket Mod scooter could hold a charge for 30 minutes, and had a range of approximately 10 miles. That would be PERFECT for the distance Richie had to travel to get to work!
He would be riding on backstreets, so the top speed of 15 m.ph. would be plenty fast enough to get him to work on time.
At 5′6″ tall and 145 lbs, Richie’s size would not over burden the scooter, which can handle riders up to 170 lbs. Needless to say, it was important that the Pocket Mod Scooter came in colors other than pink and purple!
It only weighs about 90lbs, and would be relatively easy to store. Also, if he needed to carry items with him, it has a carrying compartment as well.
We ran the idea by Richie, and he excitedly agreed that it would be a great solution to his problem!
Richie discussed the idea with his boss at work, and his boss agreed. In fact, his boss even would allow him to store the scooter in a shed behind the store.
Our problem was solved by the Razor Pocket mod scooter!
